Day School students, staff, and parents enjoyed a brisk November day for our first Race for Education. Thanks to the amazing generosity of friends and family, we raised almost $13,000! These funds will directly support Day School arts and education programming and the playground renovation project. Thanks for your support! Congratulations to the winners of our first annual pumpkin book character contest!

Day School is one of six elementary schools in Westford with raised garden beds featuring fresh produce like kale, lettuce, carrots, and a variety of herbs. Students harvest the vegetables that are then used for school lunches. The raised garden beds were installed at each school through an initiative by Fresh Start Food Gardens and sponsored by Circle Health Care.

Day School senators Will Poirier and Laney Mach explain Hillary Clinton's positions during the Mock Election town forum. Students from the audience posed questions to the senators who researched the points of view of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. All Day School students will be voting in the presidential mock election in the coming week.
Day School got into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin/gourd decorating contest of favorite book characters. Voting will take place during library classes and winners will be announced on Monday, November 1st.
Funds from the Race for Education will benefit the expansion and renovation of the Day School playground. The aging playground is over 15 years old.
